Updated: Jun 16, 2020

Today We Will Discuss What is the Impact of Immigrants to a Country’s Economy, we will also discuss how do they give a bad and a good impact with examples.

The Good Impact of Immigrants

Labor Force Impact -

•Immigration affects the labor supply, as it increases the pool of workers in certain sectors of the economy. At the same time, immigration is likely to increase the demand for labor, as migrants expand consumer demand for certain goods and services.

Contribution to the Economy:-

Immigrants create demand for goods and services while an estimated 50 to 75 percent pay taxes. Due to cheaper labor, they contribute to lower prices in the industries where they work, such as agriculture, restaurants, and construction.

A Good Impact Scenario

A country with a very low aged or high aged average citizens will need a strong labor force to support the growing economy, immigrants will be able to work in many sectors of work like the service sector in banking, accounting, and transportation or working in the producing and building sectors of working in factories, farming, and building.

The Bad Impact of Immigrants

Over Population-

Over population could increase cost of housing and renting lands and areas in the country.

Service Pressure-

Services could get into pressure like, over flown health and education facilities throughout the country.

A Bad Impact Scenario

•Let us take a pandemic for example, a country with many immigrants will mean many infected patients that will overflow the health system and cause it to collapse. But a country with a controlled amount of immigrants will be able to control the pandemic and have their healthcare system standing strong.
