According to wikipedia.org, about 150 million people are homeless and more than 1.6 billion people have inadequate shelters, which is 20% of the human population. Homelessness is most common in poor countries, for example, Nigeria had the highest homeless people per night ( about 24 million people ) in 2007.
What Are Its Causes?
The most common cause of homelessness is war and poverty, a country with a war conflict uprising will usually have a high homelessness rate due to burned houses and gun conflicts.
A country with a high poverty rate like India and Indonesia will also have many people homeless and unplaced due to rising prices and low minimum wages.
How Can These Problems Be Solved?
After a war, a country would probably be in a devastating situation, so it would take time until the economy heals back and the government would start to collect money and perform fixing initiatives inside the country.
In countries with high poverty rates, the government can introduce new jobs with higher minimum wages, state taxes on people with a high wage, and eliminate taxes on people with low minimum wages.
